10-Day Uganda Birding Tour — Albertine Rift Endemics
Our 10-day Uganda birding tour is designed for serious birders targeting the full set of Albertine Rift endemic species. Covering Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the Rwenzori foothills, Kibale Forest, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Mabamba Swamp, this tour gives 500+ species and up to 32 of Uganda's 38 Albertine Rift endemics.
Key Birding Sites
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest holds 23 Albertine Rift endemics including African green broadbill, Grauer's swamp warbler, Shelley's crimsonwing and Chapin's flycatcher. Kibale Forest adds the green-breasted pitta, Nahan's partridge and Kibale ground thrush. The Rwenzori foothills and crater lakes of western Uganda contribute Rwenzori turaco, strange weaver and blue-headed sunbird. Queen Elizabeth and Kazinga Channel deliver shoebill, African skimmer and papyrus specialists.
Tour Logistics
All accommodation is in comfortable lodges and guesthouses selected for proximity to key birding sites. Daily game drives begin at 6am to maximise activity in the golden hours. An expert guide accompanies the group for all 10 days and keeps a running species list updated daily on a shared document. The tour starts and ends in Entebbe.
Who Is This Tour For
